Resurrect a species has a sort of creationist magic, even if it is a stationary one. In this case, I have to thank the friend Carlos resurrect the idea of a flagship species for an entire country: the Costa Rican Golden Toad (Incilius periglenes, although some name it as Bufo periglenes).
It was a truly spectacular species, cause the bright orange of the males, which appeared painted with enamel. Females, though totally different in color, were also showy. It is believed they were animals who spent most of the year buried, and were only visible at breeding times.
He lived in Monteverde, in such a small area that could not stand the ecological pressure was exerted on him. Discovered in 1966, it was considered completely extinct in 2004. Quite a pity.
