This is the skeleton of a big bat, an african fruit bat named Eidolon helvum (Straw-coloured Fruit Bat). Lives in Africa south of Sahara, and had a wingspan of about 65 cm. Skeletons of bats of this size are excellent for observing anatomical adaptations these animals have developed for flight. I mounted this with open wings on a table.
